We purpose to lift up Christ in all we do. John 12:32 says "And I if be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."

We purpose to serve everyone. Mark 10:44 says, "And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all."

We purpose to search for tangible ways to prosper our competition. John 13:35 says, "By this shall all men know ye are my disciple, if ye have love one to another."

History and Philosophy

Texas Christian Athletic League is a vision from the Lord. The founders, Dr. Gilbert D. Perez, Rev. Darryl W. Crain and Coach David Mixon, had a vision for a league comprised of schools and organizations which support strong ethics and conduct, while at the same time desire an arena of competition on a State-wide level.

In the summer of 1991, our first official meeting was held in San Antonio, Texas. Although only six schools attended this first meeting, by the end of the school year we had increased our membership by 300%. In just a few short years God has brought his vision to reality by providing Christian schools with the opportunity to fellowship and compete on a State level. Since our first tournament in 1991.

T«CAL has grown to encompass many of the State's finest Schools.

In our Society, athletes can be so overemphasized. We offer a balance! We realize the importance of a solid athletic program to each school, but we also realize the importance of Character building in each athlete. Below is our motto, and in keeping with that in 1995 we received the key to the city of Galveston, Texas. We were humbled and blessed to receive such a tremendous honor.

Key to the City

Proclamation

The motto of T«CAL is "God's standard is...Excellence!" We strongly believe every young person should have an opportunity to compete with the best and against the best. The student athletes in T«CAL are given the opportunity to test their skills with some of the best athletes in the state.

"Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity." Psalms 133:1

To be affective there must be agreement. Although we compete against one another the big picture is to provide for schools and students the best opportunity in extracurricular activities. How do we do this? We covet the ideas, suggestions, and recommendations, of our member schools. With your help we can accomplish our goal to be the premier league in Texas - T«CAL!

Statement of Belief

Texas Christian Athletic League is a ministry first and foremost, dedicated to building the body of Christ through extracurricular activities. The following is the statement of our beliefs.

1. We believe in one God and the Godhead - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

2. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin, was crucified, dead, buried, and on the third day rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, and is true God and true man.

3. We believe the Bible in its entirety is the inspired Word of God and the infallible rule of faith and conduct.

4. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal happiness of the converted, and the eternal punishment of the lost.

5. We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

6. We believe in sanctification through the Word of God, by the Holy Spirit, in the personal holiness of heart and life.
